EXCELLENCE IN PRESERVATION AWARD
To The County of Hudson, The State of New Jersey

To the County of Hudson for the exterior restoration - including Maine granite masonry and bronze entrance lamps - of the Justice William J. Brennan Jr. Courthouse, located at 583 Newark Avenue in Jersey City. The American Renaissance-era structure was erected between 1906 and 1910 and was designed by master architect Hugh Roberts. The Brennan Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It will be an honor to accept this award from the Conservancy on behalf of the many dedicated volunteers and restoration professionals who have helped us recapture so much of the Brennan Courthouse's historic beauty and grandeur," said County Executive Tom DeGise. "Anyone who walks through it's restored golden doors, views the historic murals or peeks into the century-old court rooms instantly understands why the Courthouse is considered the most beautiful building in Hudson County, and a true "palace of justice."
