The City of Jersey City in collaboration with the Museum of Jersey City and the JC Free Public Library, celebrated Lafayette Day on Sept. 23, 2024. A memorial sign, which is part of the Lafayette Trail, was unveiled at the Five Corners Library and a program was held at the Apple Tree House with a historical re-enactor accepting a cane and giving a speech. The event marks the 200th Anniversary of General Marquis De Lafayette's visit to Jersey City in 1824.
