May is Preservation Month!
Join the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy and its community partners in celebrating this important month! Check our Events section for scheduled FREE walking tours, lectures, symposiums + information about other preservation events in the local area.
JCLC has been aligning itself with the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s annual Preservation Month themes and activities since 2000 — nearly a quarter of a century of enthusiastically embracing the Trust’s mission of promoting architecture culture and fostering grassroots support for landmarks, particularly sites endangered and sites on the verge of vanishing.
All May the JCLC will lead visitors through many of Jersey City’s historic neighborhoods, including a waterfront district built literally on top of a former Revolutionary War fort and a commercial center punctuated with early skyscrapers, ancient burial grounds, restored movie palaces, public monuments, and transportation terminals.
And check our Events page for Preservation Month events organized by our Jersey City partners and allies in preservation!
