Federal-Era Row Building in Paulus Hook Historic District Suffers Apparent Water Pipe Rupture

99 Greene Street — the former and recently closed Iron Monkey bar and restaurant — in Jersey City’s Paulus Hook Historic District has appeared to have been stricken during this week’s cold snap by a burst water pipe. Pauls Hook residents as well as JC Landmarks are deeply concerned about the stability of the already-fragile 200+-year-old Federal-era brick row building, perhaps Paulus Hook’s oldest standing structures.
